Emergency & Trauma: The Golden Hour Specialists
Medical outcomes are often decided in the “Golden Hour”—the first 60 minutes following a critical injury or medical event. Our protocols are engineered to maximize this window, ensuring that life-saving interventions begin immediately.
Our Specialised Care Tracks
We categorise emergencies into specialised “Red Alert” tracks to ensure the right experts are bedside within minutes:
- Cardiac Track (Code Blue): For heart attacks and cardiac arrest. Our 24/7 Cath Lab is always on standby for immediate angioplasty.
- Stroke Track (Code Grey): For brain strokes. We prioritize rapid neuro-imaging and thrombolysis (clot-busting) to prevent permanent brain damage.
- Trauma Track: For road accidents, falls, or industrial injuries. This involves a synchronized team of Orthopedic, Neuro, and General Surgeons.
- Onco-Emergency: A unique service for cancer patients experiencing sudden complications, infections, or severe pain.
Critical Infrastructure
Dedicated Triage Area: Upon arrival, patients are immediately assessed by a senior consultant to prioritize care based on clinical urgency, not arrival time.
- Advanced Trauma Bays: Equipped with high-end ventilators, defibrillators, and point-of-care testing (POCT) for instant blood results.
- Zero-Delay Imaging: Our Radiology suite (CT, MRI, X-ray) is located adjacent to the ER to eliminate transit time for critical scans.
- Dedicated Emergency OT: A sterile operating theater located within the emergency wing for surgeries that cannot wait for a transfer to the main OT complex.
Veda Mobile ICU: Advanced Life Support (ALS) Ambulances
Our care begins before you reach the hospital. The Veda Ambulance fleet is more than a transport vehicle; it is a Mobile ICU.
- Staffing: Every ALS ambulance is manned by a trained Emergency Medical Technician (EMT).
- Equipment: Onboard ventilators, multi-channel monitors, and oxygen support.
- Tele-Medicine: Our paramedics can transmit ECGs and vitals to the hospital ER while in transit, allowing doctors to prepare before the patient arrives.
The Trauma Team
Our 24×7 roster includes on-site experts ready for immediate action:
- Emergency Physicians: Specialists in stabilization and resuscitation.
- Trauma Surgeons: Experts in managing internal bleeding and complex injuries.
- Neurosurgeons & Orthopedicians: For spinal, brain, and limb-threatening trauma.
- Critical Care Nurses: Highly trained in ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support).
Emergency Guidelines for Families
- Keep a Medical File Ready: If the patient has a history (especially oncology or cardiac), bring their latest reports.
- Call Ahead: If possible, call our Emergency Hotline ([Insert Number]) while in the ambulance so our team is waiting at the bay.
- Triage Understanding: Please understand that the most critical patients are seen first. We appreciate your patience as we save lives.
