Palliative Care: More Than Just Comfort
Palliative care is specialised medical care for people living with a serious illness. Unlike hospice care, palliative care can begin at the moment of diagnosis and can be provided alongside curative treatments like chemotherapy or surgery.
Our Integrated Approach
We focus on the “Total Pain” of the patient—addressing not just the physical symptoms, but the psychological, social, and spiritual distress that often accompanies illness.
- Symptom Management: Expert control of nausea, breathlessness, fatigue, loss of appetite, and sleep disturbances.
- Emotional & Spiritual Support: Counselling services for patients and their families to navigate the complex emotions of a difficult diagnosis.
- Advanced Care Planning: Assisting families in making informed decisions about future medical care and treatment goals.
- End-of-Life Care: Ensuring a peaceful, pain-free environment for patients in their final stages, focused on comfort and family presence.
Advanced Pain Management Clinic
Pain should never be “expected” or “accepted.” Our Pain Specialists use a laddered approach to intervene in both acute and chronic pain.
Conditions We Treat
- Cancer Pain: Nerve invasion, bone metastasis, and treatment-related pain.
- Chronic Back & Neck Pain: Slipped discs, sciatica, and spinal stenosis.
- Neuropathic Pain: Diabetic neuropathy, post-herpetic neuralgia, and phantom limb pain.
- Joint & Musculoskeletal Pain: Severe arthritis and fibromyalgia.
Interventional Pain Procedures
When oral medications are not enough, we offer minimally invasive interventions:
- Nerve Blocks & Neurolytic Procedures: Interrupting pain signals from reaching the brain.
- Epidural Steroid Injections: Reducing inflammation in the spine to relieve radiating leg or arm pain.
- Intrathecal Pump Implantation: Delivering pain medication directly into the spinal fluid for long-term relief.
- TENS Therapy: Using low-voltage electrical currents for non-invasive pain relief.

Common Myths vs. Reality
Myth: Palliative care means the doctors have “given up.”
Reality: Palliative care is about living well. It is an active form of treatment that works alongside your primary doctors to improve your strength and ability to tolerate medical treatments.
Myth: Morphine is only for the very end of life.
Reality: When used correctly under expert supervision, opioids like Morphine are the gold standard for managing severe cancer pain and breathlessness, allowing patients to stay active and alert.
